Management Committee

 

Our Management Committee is drawn from a broad spectrum of students from Bond University and is not limited to a particular faculty. The current team is:

Liam Auer – Chair Liam Auer is the Chairperson of Bond Investment Group. He is responsible for the overall operations for the Group, its strategic direction, overseeing the introduction of new initiatives and ensuring the smooth operation of the committee. Liam is undertaking a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance, Economics) / Bachelor of Laws and is interning with investment bank Investec in 2011/2012. Liam was previously a Vice President of Bond University Student Association (BUSA), the overarching student representative body at Bond University and is the Vice President of the Business Students’ Association (BSA). Adam Roberts – Deputy Chair Adam Roberts is the Deputy Chair of Bond Investment Group. He is responsible for the Media operations of the Group, shaping its strategic direction and assisting the Chair in their role. The Media operations of the Group include the publication of George Street Review, and the careers services of the Group, including the creation and promotion of internship and graduate recruitment materials. Adam is undertaking a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) / Bachelor of Laws and holds a graduate analyst position at Macquarie Group for 2012, where he will form part of the Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets team. Adam was previously President of Bond University Student Association (BUSA) and is the Chair of the Student Philanthropy Council. Rupert Pedler – Treasurer Rupert Pedler is the Treasurer of Bond Investment Group. He is responsible for the financial management of the Group. This includes overseeing the sponsorship roles, sourcing financing for the Group’s activities and ensuring corporate relationships are well-managed. Rupert is undertaking a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) / Bachelor of Laws and is interning with investment bank Greenhill Caliburn in 2011/2012. Rupert was previously the Treasurer of Bond University Student Association (BUSA) and is the President of the Law Students’ Association (LSA). Jenna Wong – Secretary Jenna Wong is the Secretary of Bond Investment Group. Jenna is responsible for the organisation of the Group by ensuring each committee member is accountable for their duties, communicating to the student body of the Group’s decisions and shaping the Group’s strategic direction. Nitesh Chawda – Director Nitesh is a Director in the Events portfolio. His role is to ensure events are organised, kept up to date with current affairs and are continuously innovative. The foundation for Nitesh’s work is to meet the needs of the attendees and maximise audience satisfaction. Nitesh is undertaking a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) / Bachelor of Laws. Lewis Bourne – Director Lewis is a Director in the Events portfolio. He organises and co-ordinates all of the Group’s competitions. BIG facilitates numerous competitions, including the Investment Banking Competition as well as several trading competitions. BIG also continually creates new and innovative competitions to challenge students. Lewis is undertaking a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) / Bachelor of Laws. Lachlan McCarthy – Director Lachlan is a Director in the Media portfolio. He is responsible for the communication of the Group’s activities to its members, the University and the broader public. Max Toovey – Director Max Toovey is a Director in Treasury portfolio. He is responsible for maintaining existing sponsorship arrangements, seeking new agreements and liaising with our corporate partners. Advisory Figures

The Bond Investment Group maintains key advisory figures for overall strategic guidance of the Group. Membership is currently drawn from Bond University, but is open to industry professionals interested in the Group.

Dr Li-Anne Woo BCom (Hons) Accounting, Finance & Information Systems, PhD (Banking & Finance) UNSW Li-Anne Woo is the current Faculty of Business advisor to the Bond Investment Group. Her role is to assist the Group in their long-term planning processes and communicate the wishes of the Faculty to the Group.Li-Anne’s teaching specialities lie in corporate finance, capital markets, investments, financial statement analysis, entrepreneurship & small business finance and financial/introductory accounting subjects. She currently teaches portfolio/investments in the Finance program, co-ordinates the International Study Tour in the International Business program to China and was intensively involved in the setup of the Macquarie Trading Room at Bond University.
